Where it performs

The oils that make rubber flex, mould and last

Compounders rely on process oils to control solubility, colour and staining. Our aromatic, naphthenic and paraffinic grades act as extenders, plasticisers and process aids across every rubber and polymer formulation, with low-PAH options for sensitive programmes.

Extender · plasticiser

From heavy aromatic oils for tires to light paraffinic grades for technical rubber goods, process oils act as critical extenders, plasticisers and process aids, chosen by carbon-type distribution, aniline point and colour.

A viscous, greenish-brown oil with the highest plasticising activity of the three families. Maximum compatibility with SBR and natural rubber makes it the workhorse of tire tread and carcass compounding.

A light-coloured oil balancing solvency and stability. Low pour point and low staining suit footwear, EPDM and butyl compounds, and light-coloured technical goods.

A light amber oil and the most chemically stable of the three. A high aniline point and non-staining behaviour make it the choice for butyl tubes, TPE and colour-critical products.

Values shown are typical of traded slates and vary by refinery source. For REACH-sensitive programmes, low-PAH alternatives such as TDAE and RAE with PCA below 3 % by IP 346 are available; talk to our desk.
